Soccer highlight clips from a full match, made on your PC
Tick Sports and a match's goals, saves, cards and big chances each become their own clip, with the build-up and the reaction, framed to follow the ball.
A match isn't a stream: nobody on screen is the streamer, and the moment that matters is over in two seconds. Sports reads a video as a match, and soccer is the first sport. Basketball and cricket are next.
Clips Kitty is free & open source ❤️

How it finds the goals
It uses the models the app already runs, on your PC. The score box is the ground truth.
- The score box. It is found once and read through the whole match. A goal is a score that changed and stayed changed, so a misread digit is never a goal, and the side that scored comes with it. On the official upload of a World Cup final, 1 hour 42 minutes long, it found all six goals with the right side for each.
- The crowd. A roar that lasts means something happened.
- The whistle. Play stopped: fouls, cards, penalties, the end of a half.
- The commentary. What happened, in the commentator's words ("what a save", "penalty", "he's sent off"), in the main football languages.
- Your AI model. It reads the commentary with all of the above and judges how good each clip is, as for any video.
Framed on the ball
A 16:9 match cropped to 9:16 keeps a third of the picture, so the crop goes where the play is: it follows the ball, the way automatic match cameras do.
A match filmed or streamed 9:16 is kept exactly as filmed, and its moments are found the same way. For a vertical live, tick Vertical Live and choose ⚽ Soccer / Football as its content. With Longform, the 16:9 clips and the highlights reel are the match's moments too.
The match in one video
Tick Also make and the match's clips are joined into longer videos, in seconds, with the moments listed in the description.
- Match recap. Every goal, card, save and chance the evidence confirmed, in match order, titled with the score.
- Team reels. A video per team of its moments.
- Player reels. A video per player named in two moments or more.
Club and phone footage
A club camera or a phone on the touchline usually has no score box and no commentary, so nothing marks its goals, and none are claimed. It is still framed on the ball like a broadcast.
Give it the match's goals as you already have them, in the box at the bottom of the app with the link: from your club app's goal tags, the match report or the video's description, one per line ("18:16 Goal Player A"). Each becomes a clip with the player or team on it.
What it doesn't do yet
- Live matches. It clips recorded matches and files, not a match while it is being played.
- Tackles, dribbles and assists aren't named as moments of their own.
- Other sports. Soccer is the first; basketball and cricket are next.
Match footage usually belongs to a league or a broadcaster. Clip what you have the rights to post.
Questions
Can Clips Kitty make soccer highlights automatically?
Yes. Tick Sports for a recorded match and its goals, saves, cards and big chances become their own clips, each with the build-up and the reaction, framed to follow the ball.
How does it know when a goal is scored?
It reads the score box on screen through the whole match: a goal is a score that changed and stayed changed, so a misread digit is never a goal. The crowd's roar, the referee's whistle and the commentary mark the other moments.
Does it work with club or phone footage?
Yes, with one difference. Club and phone footage usually has no score box or commentary, so nothing marks its goals. Give it the match's goals as you have them, for example from your club app or the match report, and each one becomes a clip.
What if the match was filmed vertically?
A match filmed or streamed 9:16 is kept as filmed, and its moments are found the same way. For a vertical live, choose Soccer / Football as the Vertical Live content.
Which sports are supported?
Soccer, also called football, is the first. Basketball and cricket are next on the roadmap.
Is it free?
Yes. Clips Kitty is free and open source under AGPL-3.0, with no paid tier, no watermark and no clip cap. It runs on your own Windows PC.
